Looking for New Host & Web Developer

    Good evening all,

I have been lurking on this list for sometime now to get a feel for Miva
Merchant. Our company had decided to dump our current shopping cart and go to
Miva Merchant as our site has become too large to handle the traffic. Our host
    cannot handle it either.

I need some advice from current miva users on the best host for our site.
Could you please also include why you feel your recommendation is the best.
i.e. personal experience, level of technical support, etc. Also, any experience
with a host that can handle an emergency at 4:00am if the site goes down, etc.

We will need a lot of help in our change over to Miva Merchant, so we need a
host that can provide plenty of technical support.

We are also looking for a web developer to create the new look of our
website, so we would appreciate any referrals to Miva proficient web developers.
Again, please state any personal experiences etc. Ideally, we would like to have
a web developer, and a host that we can work hand-in-hand (3-way) for many
    years to come.

Thank you very much in advance for your comments.

    Respectfully,
    Teresa Fleming

Looking for New Host & Web Developer

    Hi Teresa,

I can only speak from my experience.
DotComDesigners has been a very good host. The staff is knowledgeable,
friendly, and quick to respond to any problems or questions. The service
    itself is very good also.
There are several other good hosts out there as well.

      Inventory at Attribute Level

Well my clothing store customer has just decided that they want to be able
to enter how many of every attribute they have. So if they have 2Sm. 3Med.
1Lg. of a certain item they want that inventory to deplete as it is ordered,
notify them when it is out, and notify the customer if it is out of stock
      with a customizable page.

I just got Inventory Manager but it sure seems like overkill. And not at all
      user friendly. Any other suggestions?

        Inventory at Attribute Level

Would you prefer the InventoryTrk Pro module from modstop.com instead?
Basically your only 2 options that I have seen.

I would certainly have to swallow my pride after all the wonderful service
ModStop has been providing. But, the customer gets the last word here so if
I have no other options I may just leave it to them with a {clause}.

ModStop - 2.5 times the cost of the VC module, no demo, and no support at
all. Nah, I don't think so.

ATTENTION VC... you over shot your mark. The new inventory mod is like
having a nuclear physicist working on powering your toaster. We just need a
simple mod for simple shops. How about a Lite version? Or a 400pg. Dummy's
            manual. ;-)

            A. Fields next to the attributes so you can put in a 1-99999.
            B. When count gets to 0 you can't buy anymore.
            C. When count gets to 0 the consumer sees "out of stock" next to attribute.
            D. Maybe a single low stock level email message.

            The End

I really wish I had more time to start writing my own... but I can only
squeeze 26 hours out of a day.
