    Communication Error-Verisign Payflow link

    I am using Hostway, Miva Merchant and Verisign Payflow link. I setup
    everything according to Hostway's directions and believe Verisign is
    setup appropriately. Verisign returns the following error:

    Transaction declined

    Your transaction was approved! However, a communication error with the
    merchant's site occurred.
    The transaction has been voided, please contact the merchant.

    Is there anything I should be looking for in particular. It is not
    returning the 200 command. I've checked over the settings a few times.

    Thanks for writing to VeriSign Payment Services.
    The problem is with the silent post url in your Payflow Link Info
    section.=20
    When we tried to send data to=20
    https://securelink/domainname/Merchant2/paylinkp.mv , we did
    not get a 200 http response back. This will cause our system to =
    decline
    that transaction. Please verify if that is the correct url and if it's
    sending back the 200 response.

    This typically indicates not having the Payflow Link
    return settings pointing at the right files. I believe
    they are paylinki.mvc and paylinkp.mvc for the silent
    post URL's. See if you have some settings for those
    in the Verisign manager interface and if they point at
    valid URL's on your store side.

      Likely the silent post URL is not set in your Verisign Manager.

      Or if it is, perhaps your Hostway server is bogged down and not replying
      before the timeout.

        Mark,

        Well, you got a response from Verisign already that
        explains, correctly, what the problem is. That's the
        typical problem with Payflow Link - it needs to know where
        to send the silent-post to complete and save the transaction
        in your store.

        The error message you are getting is basically saying that
        although the transaction was authorized, they had to void it
        immediately because they were not able to save the
        transaction back in your store (bad URL). They do this to
        prevent situations where you end up with transactions in
        your Verisign Manager, but no record of them (and what to
        ship, where to ship, etc) in your Merchant store.

        Fix the silent post URL and all should be well.
