    Costco/Nova Merchant Account

I'm looking into it too because unlike with Kelly, Cardservices wanted to
charge me "foreign access" fees if I switched away from Linkpoint--
including $195 transfer fee- not making it easy at all...

It seems like the rate is real.
Call Catherine at 800-336-2621 ext 5418... she's who I am talking too and
    seems on the ball.

I'm getting ready to submit my merchant application
with Costco/Nova. I just wanted see if anyone has had
negative experiences with them or find out if there
are any hidden fees or strings attached. Their quoted
rate for Visa/MC of 2.04% + $0.28 qualified rate and
2.99% + $0.31 nonqualified rate seems to blow everyone
away if you're doing any sort of volume, even counting
the extra cost of getting your own gateway (they no
longer offer the packaged Iongate payment gateway to
new merchants). With a $100 executive costco
membership, I don't see any monthly fees as long as
you meet their $20 minimum monthly discount.

Most of the discussion in the list archives relates to Cardservice
International and Payquake, and I'm wondering why more people aren't
    using Costco/Nova.
Other than having to pay for a separate gateway, the
only negative I see is the annoying 2-3 week
    application time.

    Many thanks,

    Costco/Nova Merchant Account

I've heard only a few bad comments about Costco/Nova.
But I have yet to see anything bad.
And the only bad comments I hear is from other Merchant Banks.

    Mmmmm...wonder why

Costco/Nova has not monthly fee, no setup fee, and is easy to deal with.
Their rates are a little lower then CSI.

But you will need a gateway to make Nova work. Last I checked they did not
offer any Gateway packages but I know a certain web hosting company that has
a good deal with Verisign PayFlow Pro. {dotcomdesigners.com} Although we
love hosting clients you can stay where you are and we can supply the
gateway. It's really fast and they are pretty easy to deal with. We moved to
them a few months ago and will never move back to LinkPoint.

Remik is right about the "foreign access" fee but you have to remember the
old phrase "It's good to be the King". CSI has a gazillion agents and sales
people out there. It's all up to your sales contact if they will add fees
and make your life rough. Sometimes it is just better to move unless you
are tied to CSI for some strange reason.

As far as Qualified and Nonqualified...
Qualified is just about every "normal" transaction where the customer
will enter a domestic credit card.
They will also enter the 3 or 4 digit security code.
    And it's a personal account.

    NonQuals are
    Corporate or foreign cards
Or they forget to enter their security code

Personally, I would not hesitate going to NOVA just make sure it's set up
before you cancel your CSI account. In addition, don't forget to contact
Discover and American Express to attach them to your new account.
