    Strange lost order

I apparently received money for an order (through PayPal) tonight, but
there is no order listed in the store. Further, PayPal has the order
recorded as 1702 and Weiland's Show Basket has this:

1700 for the person who is the buyer (just going by the email)
1702 for another person who apparently didn't finish the checkout process,
though he put a watch in the basket and went for enough to have his email
recorded--though he didn't open an account

No 1702. SO...it's not in the store as a recorded order and not in show
baskets as an abandoned cart. I have the money and PayPal has an order
number. Ideas on how to figure this one out?

He may have opened a second basket. I've had cases where the same
person had 3 or 4 baskets opened. Different browsers or cookies
    disabled.

The original 1702 was probably timed out and the number reused because
paypal.com did not post the IPN back to merchant.mvc within the timeout
    period.
