    gift message module

Does anybody know of a gift message module so the customer can add the
gift message before the sale completes and the message can be exported
with the batch orders at the end record in the order.dat file? Weiland
has something close but it cannot be used with payflow link, which we
    use.

    Thanks,
    Bill

I created a gift message system for www.basketfullonline.com simply by using
text attributes. Give it a look. Cost zilch.

Interesting, Chuck, but I just want one gift message for the entire
      order.

I guess some things just aren't possible with Miva (sigh)

              gift message module

              Hi Bill,

Might want to give our Order Attributes module a look. It collects the
data at the first checkout screen - Order Information screen (OINF). The
module uses a "hidden" product for collecting data; thus the data collection
elements are just like Product Attributes and display in the orders.

Contact Jennifer ([email protected]) to arrange a trial if you'd
              like.

              Regards,
              James

                Scott,
Can the gift wrapping be a variable, i.e. can it be set to be a
multiple of the number of products ordered?

Is the giftwrappping included in the tax calculation and excluded in the
                shipping calculation?

Where does the gift message end up? Can it be batched and exported into
                the order.dat file?

                Bill

Well... if you are really good with OpenUI tokens, I am sure you could
come up with something that would work.

                  > Is the giftwrappping included in the tax calculation and excluded in
                  the
                  > shipping calculation?

Currently, any charges added with the SS-ACDPRO module are taxable.
Charges are also excluded from shipping calculations... such as a Price
                  table shipping module.

                  > Where does the gift message end up? Can it be batched and exported
                  into
                  > the order.dat file?

The gift message ends up in a dbf database. Currently, there is no
option to "export" with orders. Contact me off-list and I will get you
setup with the ability to export these variables with your orders.

                    gift message module

Scott, this is great. I think a few users/developers out there are
looking for a way to add gift wrap to their orders on a global basis
(i.e. not a unit basis) and not have it impact shipping charges. Wish
I'd found this a while back.

                    Bill

                      gift message module

The Addendum can be used with payflow link. Like other additional checkout question modules, if you put it on the shipping and payment selection page it works fine. Not only will it collect the gift message, but if you want to charge a fee for gift wrapping you can collect it too. The addendum fee can be taxable or not (your choice) and will not normally be considered for shipping calculation.
