We have actually been audited by Discover for CISP compliance at a
customers request, we meet the proposed guidelines for all 4 major card
issuers.

It was a required security audit the customer's bank insisted on before
providing them an Internet Merchant Account, which we were happy to
participate in.

Amen to this. It's about time someone crack down - lots of store owners
think that if they have SSL installed on the server, they are set, all
the while paying no attention to the computers they use to access their
store in the first place.

Ivo wrote a really good doc on this:

Hi Sean:

Yes, mostly merchants are approached by
their credit card merchant account providers
and told they have to be scanned and fill
out the self-assessment, usually for
a few $100.

All Hostasaurus customers get free quarterly
compliance scans and a self-assessment service
provided by ScanAlert.

Jen,

Do the credit card companies have a listing of self-assessments somewhere
online that you know of?

Thanks!

Best, Sean

Hi Sean:

Self Assessment info is here:
http://www.usa.visa.com/business/accepting_visa/ops_risk_management/cisp

or
http://tinyurl.com/dnjcd

The assessment link is at the bottom.

If you do over 20000 transactions per year,
you need to have quarterly scans by an accredited
service, like ScanAlert.
