    Database Corruption

I have Merchant and 3rd party dbf files that I could formerly open offline
with CDDB (DBF viewer). The files seem to open ok with Merchant but CDBF
says there is a problem with the header. Can anyone shed some light on the
problem and point the way to confirming and fixing the corruption.

    Hi Ray,

It's been a while since I've used DBF (MySQL is the way to go), but back =
    in
those days I used DBFUtils (a shareware utility that works very well).

I still use it occasionally when working on Merchant. If you want I'll =
    send
    you the exe.

    Ben

I had this problem once with CDBF and it turned out to be a bug in the
particular version I was using. I emailed them, and they fixed it, and
hasn't caused me any problems since.=20

I've confirmed the corruption is real. I'm finding lots of corrupted files.
When I open backups from 30 days ago, I'm not having the problem. Also the
files look like the field length is wrong in some cases so that the data
displays offset by several characters in each record, progressively shifting
        to the left or right.
