    Greetings to all,

I'm about to migrate to a new dedicated server with Fedora and CPanel, =
and I need to maintain compatibility with my older miva scripts.

I just bought a single server license of Empressa 3.97. (Incidentaly, =
the Miva salesman indicated that my sale was his first ever non-Merchant =
    related transaction.)

I'm hoping that I will be able to setup a Miva environment with both =
Empressa 3.97 and the VM 4x.

I would appreciate any words of wisdom with respect to this dual-version =
installation. Is server-safe mode the best approach - as I am hosting =
    virtual domains?

    Thanks in advance,

    Tim Mallardi

    Hi Tim,

A priori there shouldn't be any problem with both installations
side-by-side. The troubles that your are more likely to run into might be
related to Cpanel and suexec. If you troubles you might want to contact Wil
from www.hyperconx.com (he's on the Merchant list)- he has a few
undocumented tricks handy to get this up and working together (also in
regards of Frontpage, which for some reason interferes with it in one way or
    another).

One extremely valueable tool is Ivo's TxDiag - it's great to get the kind of
information about security and installation issues that diag.mvc doesn't
report. The only problem with it is that it tells you quite merciless how
many things one can do wrong and how badly the official docs address these
    -partly- critical issues.
