OK button grayed out in all Properties screens

    Hi Alexis,

I'm the only one who deals directly with Development regarding Miva Synchro.
And currently, they are looking into the pop-up error message you are
getting. I haven't forgotten about you. I'll talk to them today to get an
    update for you.

    Thanks.

    Jimmy,

How about my issues? I'm still getting the error message I had sent all the
logs, screen shots and more and you guys have not give me a response.

Are you the only one in Miva tech support? Because if that is the case that
    is really bad.

I just want to know how to fix this error and get this thing to work, I'm
    starting to get frustrated here.

    Thanks,

    Hello,

Here are some responses to your questions...

    1. We'll nee to test this in-house to see what is going on. I'll see if
Development can setup a test environment like this.

    2. Can you give an example of fields, other than credit card number, that
you feel should be synch-able with Miva Synchro. Keep in mind that some
fields in QuickBooks may not exist in Miva Merchant, which would be a
    requirement.

    3. I'll talk to Development about including Credit Card info. However, I
still don't see this happening due to the nature of how Miva Synchro
communicates with the Miva Merchant store and taking the Order Encryption
    feature into consideration.

    4. Currently, we have a Miva Synchro User Guide and some Miva Synchro FAQ's
available on our website. More detailed documentation will be coming in the
future as we get the necessary resources to develop it.

    5. This error is not specific to a certain problem. There are a number of
things that can cause it. Therefore, it needs to be looked at on a case by
case basis. If you are getting this error message, the best thing to do is
contact our support department. They will then ask for your 3 Miva Synchro
log files so we can see what may be going on.

    6. In order for Miva Synchro to pull data from third party modules, it needs
to know the database fields. And since we do not develop those modules, we
do not have the information on this. IN the future, we will be releasing the
Miva Synchro API to developers who can make additions to it to work with
their modules. But at present, Miva Synchro is designed to work with the
    stock Miva Merchant fields.

    Thanks.

    Jimmy,

I think the Synchro users have been pretty clear. Read the posts.

I have compiled my known list of issues with Synchro. I have included other
Synchro users in this email thread so they may to list their issues. We
would like them addressed. You asked for specifics, here they are.

    1. There is a problem with this application running under Windows XP HOME or
with multiple versions of Intuit product. Therefore, regardless of the data
in QuickBooks Pro, Miva Synchro does not allow you to operate, therefore you
have grayed out fields. There needs to be compatibility with other
applications. Especially stock applications from necessary vendors,
Microsoft and Intuit to speak of. Throughout the course of my own
investigation, which I should never nor any customer should have to do, I
have been able to determine that if another Intuit application is installed,
like Quicken Deluxe, Miva Synchro will not work.

    2. Stock fields that are generic to QuickBooks Pro and Premier should be
available to Miva Synchro. This is to say that if the field exists in
QuickBooks, it should be stock in Miva Synchro. Including the generic 5
    fields labeled "custom".

    3. It should be our option to sync whatever information we desire. Miva
should not decide for us that payment information is a "security issue". It
should be available as an option that has an explanation as to why it is a
security issue, but we should be able to sync this information. Intuit
doesn't think it is a security risk, why should you? For those customers who
utilize Intuit's credit card authorization service, you are forcing your
customers to manually input the information, when for all practical purpose,
it should be a STOCK FIELD.

    3. Documentation is very minimal at best. And due to the level of support
available today (this is not a rap on you, but the response level to our
requests) documentation is very necessary. This would at minimum require an
area on the Miva website that would address the questions we have asked and
the potential solutions to the problems, a full documentation explaining the
functionality of the various choices we make as a result of installing and
using the application. Advanced users may have reasons for wanting to use
certain aspects of the application, yet are not able to make a determination
without knowing how their decision is going to affect the balance of the
    application.

    4. This is a common error that has not only not been address at all, but
certainly has no solution. QuickBooks Error: The query request has not been
fully completed. There was a required element ("60000-1072817178") that
could not be found in QuickBooks.

    5. Since Miva Merchant is based on modules, Miva Synchro should be
compatible with at minimum the "additional fields module" available for
Merchant. This allows the merchant the option of selecting these fields.

For the price we have paid, we deserve much more and much better. We should
not have to pay for on-the-fly Miva development, and wait for a working
application. If I got the response to the question "Is Miva Synchro ready?"
that has been posted on this board, I would be in shock.

Jimmy, all any of us want is a working application with answers to our
questions and solutions attached. Selective answering new customers
questions does not cut it. Ignoring the questions that have been asked time
and time again without solutions is not working for us and is setting our
businesses back until these issues are worked out. I am a Miva Merchant
devotee and am a supporter of Miva Synchro efforts, I just believe it is
capable of much more and at this point a good portion of us users are not
able to use it as of yet although we purchased it months ago. This does not
seem to be what we have become accustomed to with Miva Products.

    Jimmy,

Please STOP giving this advise to people. It is not true nor is it the
answer to our problems. Most of us already had Miva stores with QuickBooks
as our backend You insist this is a data problem in QuickBooks and it is a
Miva Synchro problem. Are you not reading these posts. This is nonsense and
has to stop. Address our real concerns and stop trying to place this on the
user. Our store has run on Miva since 1998. We have upgraded each time Miva
has upgraded. We have also run QuickBooks Pro and have upgraded every year,
until this 2004. So we are running current Miva Products and QuickBooks,
which is populated with data and has been for 5 years and our boxes are
grayed out. So how do you explain the fact this is the case and how do you
explain that our requests for tech. support go unanswered. Many people aside
from myself are complaining about this and you do not address it. Please.

    Hello,

When a Properties screen "OK" button is grayed-out, it means that one or
more required fields have not been filled in. Usually this happens when a
certain Account type is not specified on either Products or Orders. You
usually won't have this problem on the Customers screen as no Accounts are
    specified there.

Here is a list of required fields per screen:

Orders - AR Account or Deposit Account, Shipping Item
    Products - Accounts:COGS, Accounts:Income, Accounts:Expense (if 'Track Cost
    for Non-Inventory Items' is checked)

    Thanks.

    Synchro users;

We are still trying to get Synchro install and working correctly.

Every time we try to make a change in one of the Properties screens
(Properties: Products, Properties: Orders, Properties: Customers) we
cannot select "OK" to make the change. The "OK" button is always grayed
out and is unclickable. Only the "Cancel" button is clickable.

MIVA told us the answer is in the manual but we haven't seen it. We've
gone through the manual numerous times and can't find a fix for this
problem. We've gone through the installation process more times than I
    care to count.

What are we doing wrong and what should we do to get this software
    working?

We have Windows XP Home and QuickBooks 2003 Pro Edition. The Synchro
Connector module (version 1.1001) is correctly installed and the
"active" check box is checked. We know Synchro is talking to the
shopping cart as it provided the correct Merchant Storefront in the Add
    Store Wizard: Select Storefront screen.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

      Hello,

I just wanted to update you all with a response to point #1 below...

Here is an excerpt from the Release Notes for Intuit's new QuickBooks SDK
      v3.0:
"We strongly recommend that you upgrade existing applications to use
QBXMLRP2 because it resolves problems that can occur with QBXMLRP when
multiple versions of QuickBooks are installed."

Development believes that this is where the problem that was reported lies.
We will be updating Miva Synchro to use the new QBXMLRP2 as it currently
      uses QBXMLRP.

      Thanks.

      Thanks.

      Synchro users;

      Any ideas?

OK button grayed out in all Properties screens

        Hello,

Here are some responses to your questions...

        1. We'll need to test this in-house to see what is going on. I'll see if
Development can setup a test environment like this.

Yes, I get that, Todd. I see that customers are having issues. But nobody is

I am not upset, I do not like the fact that I have the same problem all of
the other posters have, yet I cannot get you to respond to my emails,
provide a solution or deal with the issues the application currently has,
without moving on to other features users may desire. The idea is to get the
car running before you deck out the body. Without the engine, the rest is
useless. Enough posters have complained, yet the few I have read all say
they have not been able to get a response to their issues, they are not
working or are limping along. Do you not get that from the posts. I have
included a few if they have slipped past you in some way.

        Todd,

I'm simply telling the reasons why the "OK" button can be grayed out. I
don't understand why you are so upset with my suggestion to the problem. If
the customer responds back and says that his fields are all populated in
Miva Synchro, then I'll go from there to see what else could be causing a
problem. I am not blaming anybody. I'm simply stating the reasons why the
button would be grayed out based on my knowledge of how the Miva Synchro
        application is written.

          Hi Heather,

You need to create a Shipping Item in QuickBooks with a type of "Other
Charge". This Shipping Item may be used on the order invoices or sales
receipts in QuickBooks to display the shipping charges.

          Thanks.

          Jimmy,

Here is a copy of my Synchro Orders screen. mI too cannot get the OK button
to go 'black' or active form its current Grayed-out status. I tried to fill
all the boxes, but the shipping item box gives me no options in the scroll

          What gives?

I gotten Synchro 1.0 to synch my customers and my Inventory items pretty
soundly so far, but cannot get the Order Synch function to work.

          Thanks

          Hello,

Here are some responses to your questions...

          1. We'll need to test this in-house to see what is going on. I'll see if
Development can setup a test environment like this.

Yes, I get that, Todd. I see that customers are having issues. But nobody is
posting any specifics, so I have nothing to work with. They're complaining
about features and such without saying what specifically.

-"Many people aside from myself are complaining about this and you do not
address it." Complaining about what? I don't understand what you are
          referring to here. Please elaborate.

          Thank you.

          Thanks.

          Synchro users;

We are still trying to get Synchro install and working correctly.

Every time we try to make a change in one of the Properties screens
(Properties: Products, Properties: Orders, Properties: Customers) we cannot
select "OK" to make the change. The "OK" button is always grayed out and is
unclickable. Only the "Cancel" button is clickable.

MIVA told us the answer is in the manual but we haven't seen it. We've gone
through the manual numerous times and can't find a fix for this problem.
We've gone through the installation process more times than I care to count.

What are we doing wrong and what should we do to get this software working?

We have Windows XP Home and QuickBooks 2003 Pro Edition. The Synchro
Connector module (version 1.1001) is correctly installed and the
"active" check box is checked. We know Synchro is talking to the
shopping cart as it provided the correct Merchant Storefront in the Add
          Store Wizard: Select Storefront screen.

          Any ideas?
