I have been trying for over 2 weeks to get Synchro to work
and have made some progress. But it seems to hang up and
doesn't synch the orders. I sent the logs files in to
Jimmy and have not had an answer. That was 5 days ago. No
    answer to date.

There is, however, a larger concern. Can this synch
product work without deleting the MIVA products. It is
very scary reading the postings by people who had to deal
with a restore to their store. How much money did they
    lose?

Is it possible that Miva Synchro just is not ready?

    Why is this deletion happening?

Can it be prevented and how?

Of course this is a beta version, but will the problem be
fixed when the product is released? Or will we never
know? Will it always be an issue?

These are all good questions and they deserve answers. I
would like the Synchro team to provide some honest answers
to me and the rest of the people who have spent time with
    your beta version.

I can't see going on with this product until I have some
answers to the questions above. I have a large store and
if we are down even 1 day, it is thousands of dollars
    lost.

I would love to see this product work because of the time
saved in producing Sales Receipts, but if there is a
chance that we could lose your Miva database, I can't see
how this product is a viable one.

    Synchro-IS IT REALLY READY ?

Hi Dailia, I couldn't agree with you more. There are a couple of issues
that are really bugging me and unfortunately has caused my boss to hold off
on using this product till I (we) get some more answers. As a software
developer, I do understand the issues related to beta releases and as an
early beta tester, I also understand the risks. That being said, data loss
is a hugh issue, and one that should be addressed quickly by Miva. I would
love to create the scenario where data is deleted from Miva, as this would
help support, but I can't really use the product anymore because of it. If
anyone outthere has info on how to recreate this problem in a test
environement, I believe it would be helpful for the Miva support people.

Anyway, here are my list of current issues with Synchro. Everyone please
feel free to add to the list. Maybe we could come up with a list so they can
    focus on the top issues.

    1. Data loss, synchro has a tendency to delete products from Miva when
    synchronizing
    2. Why does synchro send data from quickbooks to Miva when you specifically
state - Transfer from Miva to Quickbooks only
    3. Shipping costs not being added to quickbook invoices
    4. Ability to reset the order number from within synchro as to where to
start processing orders. As mentioned in an earlier post, I believe that if
Synchro thinks and order has already been processed, even if it hasn't, it
will not be processed by synchro.
    5. Ability to setup schedules for orders, customers and products
independently. This is more of an enhancement but while we want to process
orders on the hour, products should be updated once a day at a specified
    time.
    6. Better documentation - I know this will come with time, but any
    additional info would help.

      Synchro-IS IT REALLY READY ?

      Eric,

Here are some replies to your list...

      1. Data loss, synchro has a tendency to delete products from Miva when
      synchronizing
:::We are aware of customer's having this issue, but as of yet, have not
been able to reproduce it. Anybody than can reproduce this, please send all
3 Miva Synchro log files to [email protected] and any other helpful
      info.

      2. Why does synchro send data from quickbooks to Miva when you specifically
state - Transfer from Miva to Quickbooks only
:::There is no such setting in Miva Synchro. It will always synchronize in
both directions. The setting you are thinking about is whether or not to ADD
products created in Miva Merchant to QuickBooks and vice versa.

      3. Shipping costs not being added to quickbook invoices
:::There are 3 methods to adding Shipping costs to QuickBook Invoices. As a
Line Item on the Invoice, by Creating/Using your Miva Merchant shipping
method as fixed, or by using pre-defined fixed QuickBooks methods. By using
the Line Item option, you must create an Item in your QuickBooks company for
      the Shipping Charges.

      4. Ability to reset the order number from within synchro as to where to
start processing orders. As mentioned in an earlier post, I believe that if
Synchro thinks and order has already been processed, even if it hasn't, it
will not be processed by synchro.
:::Currently checking with Development to see if this is a feature we would
      like to add.

      5. Ability to setup schedules for orders, customers and products
independently. This is more of an enhancement but while we want to process
orders on the hour, products should be updated once a day at a specified
      time.
:::I will ask Development about adding this as well.

      6. Better documentation - I know this will come with time, but any
      additional info would help.
:::Full Documentation is still being worked on.

      Thanks.
