If that setting was there to begin with, it was often put there due to some PCI scanner failing you on an 'insecure cookie' being served without the insecure only flag or something along those lines. Its presence, or lack thereof, is not necessary for Merchant to function normally. Probably just means if you do fail a PCI scan, rather than putting the setting back, you could manually appeal the failure.

Hi all,

With a NON-merchant mivascript application we have developed in house, we are having a problem with the callerid function since upgrading to Empressa v 5.23 from 5.17 over the weekend.

I realized that usecookies=0 in the mivavm.conf was the problem and when I removed it, the callerid had a value in it.

We also use MivaMerchant v9.5x. Is there a problem with me removing the usecookies=0 line in the mivavm.conf file? If so, is there an alternative that we can use for our non-merchant application?
