Colossus site search UI, can it be swtich to permemantly display search field?

During our usability testing, we found all of our users had problems with Colossus site search user inetrface when first introduced via a mobile device.

The first problem we observed is that users are accustomed to look for a search field versus taping on a icon to display it. Half spent between 5 to 10 seconds looking for the search field to start tying away, the other half gave up within 10-15 seconds.

The second problem we ran into is they did not know how to get rid of the search field.

Is there any way to permanently display a search field?
    Thank you, Bill Davis

    Hi Bill,

If you would like the search field to be visible at all times, like in Shadows, you could replace the button in Colossus with the search form. You will need to customize the preview code since you are changing the layout.

Ouch! That sounds like it can get complicated very quickly. No chance on an option for Colossus 2.0?

        Hi Bill,

I'll see what I can do about an additional extension.
