    Product with attribute - Code not showing in cart

    Hi,
    I'm trying to clean up our products, specifically updating a few product codes. Some of our products don't have any attributes so the main Product Code that is required works just fine. But for other products there are several attributes. For example:

    When you select one of the three Colorants, you can see that the attribute-specific code appears correctly right above the buttons (ie. CHOOSE COLORANT: CB24LN) but after adding to cart and going to the cart you only see the main product code.

    How do I get that attribute-specific code to appear in the cart?

    If you create Inventory Variants the SKU of the variant product will display in the basket.

    Try creating Inventory Variants (you do not have to track inventory to create inventory variants).

    Once created add a value to each one of the variant products created and that value should show in the basket and in the order details within the admin.

        Unfortunately I just got around to trying this out. I remembered that I created a product recently with Inventory Variants, so I added that to the cart but it still only shows the main product code in the cart. You can see in attachments 01 (Cart) that the SKU is OLT, which is the Rigid, 2x version. But on attachment 02 (Product > Inventory Variant) you can see that all of the variants have different codes (Which I want to change) such as OBJLEVTAR_RIG_2X. I'd think that would be what shows up? Then I thought I could edit the variant after the fact (Attachment 03: Edit Variant screen) but when I try and alter that code field it does nothing.

        So why isn't OBJLEVTAR_RIG_2X showing up as the new code in the cart?

        SIDE NOTE:
        Why is there a SKU field in the backend if it's not being used? I feel like the Code and SKU are the same thing.

            So I tried and it sort of works. When I create the product variants it appends the parent product code to the new code like this:

            SKU: TEST001_CB24LC

            So TEST001 was the parent code for the main product, and CB24LC is the product code I gave to the attribute.

            I don't want the parent code added to the beginning. Any idea if this is possible?

              jfazar Does the variant product have a SKU assigned? The variant product needs to have a SKU assigned. If the variant product has a SKU then it will replace the order line item SKU field.
