If statement on Ready Theme Contect Section

I have a content section called Site Wide Message. This is only used for site wide announcement purposes to inform customers some info. So is it possible to use a if statement like if the content section is not empty then display message with some html tags and css styles. I am looking to have the html and css styles show if there is some content

    Thanks

If you include all the code you want in the content section and place the token on there site where you want it, the content will only show if you have that section selected as active.

          tamu,
we do that and it's built in already. There is a site wide "stripe" at the top of the entire site. It is in the levels ready theme: banners. called the promo-message the description is the pre-header promo message.

You can stick just text, or text and an image in there (have to hard code the image but it works).

We use that banner if we make a major change, or add a feature, or have a huge sale going on. Or maybe a shipping coupon good right now! that kind of thing.

We use IF and two different Content Sections, one a is a default global banner Content Section (e.g.: "Free US S&H over $50.00!", etc..), the second is a special promotion (e.g.: 10% Off on all...) Content Section using Timed Promotion that is triggered by a Price Group rule. That way the special promotion message is automatically displayed and removed based on the Price Group rule. I do wish there was a simpler way.
