Shadows v2.0.0

Thanks, Jamie - I had updated to MM10 on my dev store so I could look at the code for Shadows v2.0.0. I do like the message in the warning box that comes up when you start the process. I do like not needing to jump through hoops for a dev environment - but I still highly recommend that you get a dev copy of the store you want to update, just to see what will happen and then be able to train the store owner. It is very, very different - in a good way. I managed to find the template history all by myself. I don't recall the click being added to the hamburger menu but it's a nice touch hiding the history.

Wild applause for all of the above! And, very much looking forward to Leslie's questions and her breaking things! I learn a lot from Leslie.

FYI - if you rename the pkg file name, you can upload it. But yeah, I expected to see it there.

Hi Leslie,
Well, for all intents and purposes, v2 does look very similar to v1 ;-)
When you create a new site or create a new development branch in Miva 10, Shadows will already be applied. You can also get a version of the ReadyTheme from the Apps Store. As for a separate forum, I am going to just keep this one going.

Two more comments - how do you activate Shadows 2.0.0 (since it ships with it)? And are you going to start a v2.0.0 thread?

Point of order - since this is Shadows 2.0.0 is there a way to visually differentiate it from the older versions of the Shadows demos? When you look at the demo (and link) for v2.0.0 it all looks the same. I would think I've gone to the wrong demo. The documentation on the other hand clearly notes that it is v2.0.0 with "What's New in Shadows v2.0.0"

Shadows v2.0.0
** Queue awesome sounding movie trailer voice **
In a world where shopping carts ran rampant and ReadyThemes refused to work with one another, one theme brought them to justice. That theme was Shadows. It has been three years since that day, now it's time for Shadows next big adventure...jumping into the core of Miva.
** Queue dramatic music **
Yes, the rumors are true. Shadows is now the default ReadyTheme in Miva 10. No longer will you have to wait for an update when a new core feature is added...it will already be there.
What's New in Shadows v2.0.0
We examined the way ReadyThemes worked with the core software and wanted a tighter integration. While working on this, we made some improvements to the original version of Shadows.- Cleaned and trimmed up the HTML, CSS, and JavaScript code.
- Improved accessibility for better user inclusivity.
- Compliant with Google's latest Web Vitals metrics.
- Improved overall Page Speed Metrics.
Additionally, you now have the option to use a developer version of Shadows for your site builds.- Native support of CSS custom properties (variables).
- Native support for SCSS.
- Gulp build process to output a single CSS file and a single JS file.
