Developer Meet and Greet Proposal

I've had some questions recently from the smaller developers who won't have a booth, but still were hoping to have some time and space set aside to meet with users.

So I am considering having an open and casual Developer Meet and Greet on Tuesday afternoon. We will have open time for exhibits (1 - 5pm) and registration (12 - 9pm) on Tuesday afternoon. I was thinking if we set the last two hours of the open exhibit time as a Developer Meet and Greet, then you could all plan on being there to talk to users and others.

I'm interested but I hope how many people respond to threads is not an indication of interest because zero end-users have responded to the Who's Going thread.

Just responding to make sure that everyone understands I am being serious. I think there is interest even if the responses are lacking.

Seriously, lighten up. I'm not judging anything by forum posts, even people's level of courtesy. Our attendance and people's interest in the Conference is good. I know you aren't happy with some of my decisions, but come on, it was a bit of fun.

huh? I don't know why you are trying to start something and/or get personal. Inaccurate statements on your part aside, I will reiterate again that I think there is interest. You want me to lighten up?

IMHO, I don't think Jason was saying anything snide or aggressive, William. It's a valid point that forum expressions of interest are almost nill. He even clarified what he meant. I'm in the same boat in deciding if siteXpansion, Inc. will sponsor in some way - booth, ad in program, etc. So far, I haven't seen any interest, and every single person I've spoken to has said they're not going this year.

That doesn't mean nobody's going, or imply that you're making bad decisions. It's just that's our perspective based on what we see and hear. Hopefully as it gets closer, things will change and people will begin speaking up on the forums about attending.

Well, now see, that probably won't be happening. Sponsors pay for the privelege to hand out items. You're more than welcome to hand out business cards and what not during the conference, but you won't have a table available for marketing materials, unless of course you want to be an exhibitor or sponsor.
