Well is Scott shows...that makes 3. Although I remember the last time I tried to get my bowling balls through an airport...

Lets see...OKC...about 6 months after the bombing...yea...just what I needed, 15 federal officers with lots of guns freaking out by the x-ray machine....not one of my fonder moments in air travel.

It took everything I had to convince them NOT to cut one in half to prove it was concrete & resin inside.

I'll see if I can get some sort of bowling-type thing tied into the Conference.

      Any more feedback?

What about a poker tournament...top x winners get Miva (and maybe other developer) prizes? We'd be willing to kick in products.

You might just have said the magic words. There are a few of us here who love a good game of Poker, well assuming it's a good poker game.

Its a hot topic these days....although I've been playing for a number of years :)

Thats really not a bad idea for one of the evening events.

well it is if I'm winning<G>....beside being fun, and maybe even still hip by august...its great because you are actually sitting down and interacting with a group of folks. Should be structured in a way that the groups are "shuffled up" ever once in a while<G>...

Well, I've already have the idea in my head to have a casino night for one of the evening events. I want them to be more interactive than prior years. So we can do the normal casino night stuff, with table games, cards, etc. for those not into poker, then also have a poker tournament.

Ok, I'm sold on it. Now I gotta look into details. Anyone have experience hosting a tournament? PM me if so.

Better wi-fi access in the conference rooms. Last year was horrible, and I even had to scrap part of my second talk because I couldn't login to my mm5 store.

This year, the internet access for attendees will be limited to one area. We won't attempt to blanket the whole Conference as in previous years as it never quite works out right.

For the speakers, there will be internet at the podium for presentations. And yes, I do remember the headache last year with your session, Jason. So I am making sure this year it won't happen again to anyone.

Will in-room high speed internet be available at the hotel? That shared dual T-1's they had at the last place when you've got 300 techie geeks for a conference crawled.

Have the dates been set in stone? Air Fares are raising pretty fast...any chance of contacting say Alaska and/or Southwest to see if they will give a bit of a deal (although, general internet sluthing may be more benificial.)

Yes, there will be in-room high speed. The Conference is at a Marriott, so those amenities will be available.

Yes, the dates are set in stone: August 29 - September 1
