    That can also occur if the mysql socket file is not present in the location Empresa expects it; hard coded (no idea why) to /tmp/mysql.sock on unix servers.

      Yea, I know. No idea why either. You can get around that by using '127.0.0.1' rather than 'localhost' for the connection string:

        I definitely have all privileges on the db.... How do I see what version of connector I have for Miva?

          If you're using the latest engine, Miva Merchant Empresa v5.10 and it's library then you're on the latest but just to be sure your md5sum results on it should be 89ef6582de3c2912a370ca17b3171765
