    Re: Authorize.net changes hands

That would explain why if you call Authorize.net now, you get "current hold time is 65 minutes", or "company voicemailbox is full, please try calling again later"... I don't think we've been able to reach anyone at Authorize.net in about a week now...?

Thank you for this information. Any ideas on what this might mean for their clients?

Cybersource is planning on making this their Small Business Platform from what I've gathered. I can't say with a lot of certainty though.

I'm not 100% sure yet. As with most mergers... it takes a good amount of time to figure out what you just purchased.

I am talking with them already but they are just trying to take it day by day right now.

I'll post anything I find out as I find out.

            Re: Authorize.net changes hands

If I had to guess, probably the same level of service (or complete lack of it) as CyberSource clients have been getting... If you have a look at Miva's own payment services, which was a rebranded version of Cybersource, you'll also notice that they are moving away from them and switching to a new provider (PayQuake), which should be a good indication of where things are heading.

We have been actively trying to reach ANYONE at Authorize.net for the past week or so, and have yet to reach even our own account rep in regards to couple new account setups. Today we sent a notice to cancel both new signups. Having had nothing but bad experience with Cybersource in the past, seeing Authorize.net being swallowed by them simply means we will likely no longer offer or recommend Authorize.net, either. I don't have much hope for Authorize.net support remaining at the levels it used to be, under their new corporate management (ie: Cybersource). Sad, as this was one of the "better" gateways out there.

payQuake (and the new Miva Merchant Payment offering) are also not using Authorize.net unless it's the only option.
              Thanks,

                Re: Authorize.net changes hands

I've been using Authorize.net for over 6 years - not the best - but then again none of them are. The best way to reach them - even before this announcement is to use their web chat feature. I always get through in under 5 minutes that way. Just food for thought.

                  Re: Authorize.net changes hands

Same story as Joe. My two cents is that we have found Authorize.net to be excellent. Their web chat (seldom necessary) is always under five minutes.

Companies in transition are tough to establish new business (or even reach), so expectation should be temporarily lower on that issue. Time will tell whether the merger will result in attempts to fix something that isn't broken. Unless our online customers begin to experience poor service, we see no reason to be alarmed.
