It would be very beneficial to have control over price group discounting at the Category and Item Level. For example default Wholesale Price Group gets 50% off store wide except for items in Category A which have smaller markup, so those items only receive 30% off. Or even more finely tuned Widget B in Category A only gets 20% off.
The Price Group discount at the item level would supercede the Price Group discount at the Category Level which would supercede the default price group discount.
