Customer/Shopper Collections

I would like to see the collections expanded to allow for customers and guest shoppers. Being able to assign shipping methods to a Customer collection opens a huge opportunity.

I’m wanting to assign a shipping method to a grouping of customers AND also an availability group.


So and example collection build:


Shipping address is in Alaska

OR

Shipping address is in Alaska Hawaii

OR

member of Availability Group “ABC”

OR

member of Availability Group “XYZ”


This way it is any customer in Alaska or Hawaii has access to this shipping method ALONG with my ABC and XYZ members of the availability groups. I could see looking into customer fields as well.

Currently, you could assign to just the state restriction OR to an availability group. I'd like the collection, with immediate rebuild, so logged in and guest shoppers could get this logic applied.

To state this a different way, are you saying that you would like location based availability group assignment to happen in real time based on rules, where the rule might be:
- current logged in customer location
- guest shopper location (either IP derived or based on a session value set by "Please enter your Zipcode (or state) to see availability" when guest shopper hits a product page?)
