    domainbrokers.com

    Has anyone dealt with domainbrokers.com?
I want to purchase a domain name via their service. Good/bad experiences?
    Thanks!

    Re: domainbrokers.com

I took a quick look at their site. I'm not an expert, but I wouldn't deal with these folks unless I knew for a fact that they already had control of a name I wanted. If there's a specific name you're interested in, you don't need to go thru them to find out if it's available, or who owns it. If necessary, you can contact the owner directly to bargain, although I suppose it's possible that they'll hand you off to a broker. Transfers of ownership, or purchase of un-owned names, can be arranged thru many good hosting companies, who will charge you only very modest fees.

Yes, I specifically want a domain name that is brokered by them.
I actually tried to contact the owner directly in the past with no result.
So, are you saying I could simply call my hosting company and let them negotiate a sale?
      thanks

Hmmm, is "brokered" the same as ownership? If it was me, I'd do a "whois" search to find out whether they really own the name ... or did you do that already? If they don't actually own it, I'd try a few more times to contact the owner. It's Summer; he might just be on vacation.

        Hope that helps --

They do not own the domain.

Sounds pretty generic to me. I would try contacting the actual owners of the domain and see where that gets you --- cut out the middle man at least.

Have you attempted to contact the actual owner of the domain?
