    Control Panels & Stat Tools

Could someone please share their opinion on the following tools?

    CPanel v. Webmin

    Urchin v. Webalizer

    Thank you,

Re: Control Panels & Stat Tools

cPanel is a web hosting control panel. Webmin is just a Linux server management panel - not meant for "web hosting" tasks. If you want to manage a server with multiple domains, email accounts, etc, the same folks who make Webmin also make Virtualmin.

Urchin is a more heavy-duty, industrial grade web log analyzer. It can extract much more usable data from your server logs than Webalizer can. Urchin can also tie in with your Miva Merchant store to provide you e-commerce stats. And in Urchin you can specify any date range you'd like to review, whereas Webalizer is limited to monthly stats only, and it keeps only the last 12 months of stats, discarding anything older than that. Urchin can keep data indefinitely.
