Plesk and Name Servers

Does anyone out there work with the control panel software called PLESK. If so please contact me asap offline if you wish at [email protected]

I am trying to set this up on a new server and having difficulty with any kind of tech support.

ALSO, I am trying to set up a new name server name using one of my domains and have been told that I must register the new name somewhere on the web. Does anybody know where? I have tried Network Solutions because that is web the domain that I wish to set up the name server name based on is located at. I am new to DNS Name Servers but having problems. Appreciate any guidance.

I apologize for using the Miva forum but I am having a heck of a time getting any one who knows.

You have to take two IP addresses from the server, decide what to name them, for example 1.2.3.4 and 1.2.3.5 could be ns1.ccswebmarketing.com and ns2.ccswebmarketing.com, then you go to the registrar for ccswebmarketing.com and define those name servers with them using the addresses you have. This is different than setting name servers on a domain as that's to point the domain at someone else's servers, you want to define name servers on the domain. You can even do this while having the domain itself hosted elsewhere using different name servers.

You shouldnt run 2 dns servers on the same machine, there are reasons you are required to have at least 2.
