    Date range download of email?

I have my mail boxes set up using IMAP. That's fine until I go over my quota. I then download everything to my hard drive via POP3. Is it possible to download email using a date range? For example, I'd like to download all my email from March 1 through March 31, leaving all of April and May on the server. I use Thunderbird on a Mac for my email.

Most IMAP clients treat moving mail from an IMAP folder to a local folder as an instruction to remove what is on the server. So typically you just click the oldest in the range, shift-click the newest in the range, which highlights the entire range, then drag them to a local mail folder and it downloads and removes from the server.

OMG - I'm like a kid in a candy store with this tip. My mail box will hopefully never overflow again
