    Help on Miva!

Hi folks, I could use your help...I have been voluntold to work on a website that was supposedly geared to envolve a biggest apk downloader website (APKNite is its mother site).

Unfortunately, the issue I have is the "old website was perfect", so no one will give me a feature list.... and it was written in Miva Script, something I'm not familiar with. All I want to do is view the site as it was so that I can see what it was so that I can re-do it but have the functions that were perfect but that nobody can list for me.

Is there a good/simple way to do that? I ostensibly have the "whole site" in one zip file--it seems to be in order well enough, but since I've never worked with Miva whatsoever, and I'm probably not going to use Miva for the site, in the long run, I don't even really know where to start...a basic tutorial on how to work with Miva wouldn't get me to see the site quickly, and wouldn't have a lot of utility since I won't be working with it. I've been searching for "how to view a Miva site" and variations, but I'm sure none of you will be surprised to see that wasn't super helpful. I figure someone might be willing to at least point me in a direction to start walking?

    Thanks in advance!

If the files in the archive have the .mvc extension, your going to need to ask for the 'source' files to be able to do anything as that would be a compiled site. If they are named .mv, then any text editor will let you view them.

Most sites built with 'mivascript' follow typical scripted site structure. A main file is called, that then calls files with functions for things like headers, footers, navigation elements, etc.

Personally, unless the code is well documented, even if you could read mivascript, you'd have a hard time making modification that wouldn't break the entire system and would be slow and ardious work.

There is a book on mivascript programming:

    https://www.amazon.com/Official-Miva.../dp/0966103211

Its a bit old, but covers the basics well.

For new functions/features there is a more up to date listing here:
