Need thoughts about SEO and hidden text as a result media queries

I am working on some pages that are heavily media query driven. There will be some duplicated content such as product codes and prices. My concern is the hidden text and content when the screen size doesn't match the media query. Research I've done so far, opinions think that there might NOT be an issue (negative impact on SEO) because the smartphone bot can figure out the motive of the hidden text unlike the old days of search engine killers. Thoughts? Ideas? Your experience?

    Thanks,

    Scott

There won't (shouldn't) be a negative impact, but you wont get much positive impact without direct links pointing in. For example, lets say you have a page that lists state specific products, if this requires the state to be passed in like

    www.gostate.com/showme?state=wa

Then, to gain any ADVANTAGE to that content, you need to have that link clearly on the page as

and not triggered say from a drop down or form post.

Now, if that's too tedious to do because of the different permutations of the URL, then the next best step is to link to a page that has "all" the content.

OK, this appears to be the info I was looking for about media queries. In other search results, The main reason hidden text/elements "can" be acceptable is that the SE bots know how to filter the media queries.
