What happened to this forum?

Earlier today I received an email from the forum notifying me that I had received a "Visitor Message." Is that the same as a Private Message, just with a different name?

I went to my Message Center, and I don't see this message there. I don't see any button to view Private or Visitor messages. Apparently I have no way to view these messages, except by searching through the Notifications list, where they are mixed in with all my forum activity. I don't use PMs very often, but it seems to me that this used to be easy. Have I forgotten something?

I'm not sure either, I think they essentially act like "emails" but sent via the Forums

Might need to take a deeper dive into it. I get the email, click the link but get a message saying I don't have permission to view it. I had thought it might have been something related to post moderation but then you'd think I would have still been able to view it. These "Visitor Messages" appear to have a forum post title.

I think I figured out the Visitor Message thing. Click on a User Profile and enter a comment in the Activities field, then click Post (versus Private Message).
