Best hoster for simple non-shopping Web site?

My brother needs a simple Web site to promote a new business venture. We don't need e-commerce or anything fancy: just some simple pages with text & pictures and a Contact Us form. I suppose we might also want to stream a few short videos, although those can always be hosted on Youtube or Vimeo and embedded into the pages.

Can anyone recommend a good, inexpensive hoster? I've seen the TV commercials for places like Wix and GoDaddy, but I don't know how good they are.

    Thanks --

+1 on inmotionhosting. Inexpensive AND full access to Control Panel so you can set up things like DMARC and spam filtering easily.

Also you might consider Neocities -- https://neocities.org/ -- it's low frills simple web pages like GeoCities (back in the day), but with access to more useful features like custom domains.

You can 'unlock' custom domains, more storage, more transfer, and other "nice to haves" for a mere $5 USD/month -- https://neocities.org/supporter

They have a great, simple online editor, or you can get "fancy" and use their API tooling, the 'official' CLI tool is in Ruby (https://neocities.org/cli), but they have community built CLI tools in other languages that are more Windows friendly, if needed -- https://neocities.org/api

If you're looking for more of a SaaS product you might also consider:
            • https://wordpress.com -- reasonably priced managed Wordpress, you'll probably want the second tier of the service, as it removes the ads that support the free accounts. Oh and the "Business" tier is kinda rad because it allows for the installation of plugins. It is "just Wordpress" so it would be a fairly easy thing to find contractors to do any extra support work on the site.
            • https://squarespace.com -- not 'cheap' but reasonable, they have solid templates and a fairly straight forward system, and they have professional design/development services too.
