Here's another one (not Magneto), all software is potentially a target, but WordPress as an underlying Ecommerce platform is uniquely dangerous (IMO)

Which is why I question any SEO / Design Agency that only knows WordPress and then recommends it to a very large established Miva store.

SEO/Design groups seem to react to the latest shiny object. History id littered with what used to be good ideas for a few seconds. Remember directory sites?????

Yeah, the ultimate in "black hat" - IMHO.

The one constant that seems to remain true is content.

round here, we view WP as ANY kind of platform uniquely dangerous...at least towards mental health.

FWIW and IMHO - I LOVE WordPress - just NOT for eCommerce (besides the potential security issues WooCommerce sucks six ways to Sunday and I haven't played enough with the BigCommerce plug-in). It's easy to use, intuitive, and with a couple of security plug-ins that monitor a number of factors (and not to mention the huge selection of free and paid theme options) it is a great option for content.
