Gmail authentication question

Should an SPF record have a path/provision in the INCLUDE for emails sent from SendGrid on a domains behalf? I have a client using a 3rd party service that uses SendGrid to distribute email on the client's behalf. Gmail accounts are not receiving the email despite no bounce records. It appears the Gmail email accounts are being rejected because Gmail still doesn't know how to authenticate emails. (sarcasm).

No, that should not be necessary. I would suspect the sendgrid setup is not correct or has changed in some way. Sendgrid requires the creation of custom DNS records for a subdomain of the sending domain, including SPF that they handle, but it should all be delegated to them for automatic config. This hidden subdomain is independent from the "From" domain that appears on the messages, which is typically the primary domain.

It looks like it took longer than normal for the DNS changes to propagate to be available for Google to find the records. Appears the Gmail email is allowing these emails in the inboxes now.
