Do Tag accounts get shared automatically when the property owner shares account admin access?

The follow up question, if the tag account is hidden somehow, what happens if a tag account gets created when it already exists?

OK, I'll attempt to close out this scenario. My guess is that this scenario is rare.

What I found is that the store owner wasn't told what the SEO group was doing behind the scenes. They had added a GTM container to the store. Since they didn't know, the store owner could share the Tag Manager property.

I created a tag manager account for them and did the GA4 integration. Shortening the story, I had to disable the other container before my integration would connect. For me it's happened on more than one store, it took many hours for data to start flowing. This particular store I hadn't seen data flow up to 8 hours afterword. I noticed it was working when I checked 3 days later. I have no guesses for the delay while seeing it in every integration I've done.

So, answering my own question, there isn't a side effect from multiple GTM containers if only one is enabled. The challenge now is to find out what was happening in the other container. I have seen an option to combine multiple Tags.

Point of clarification - I don't want to assume that the GTM tag was disabled in Google - is that where you disabled it at? Thanks!

Good point Leslie. To clarify, The GTM I disabled was removing the code from the templates. However, I hadn't had the access to that container in Tag Manager to be able to disable it there.
