How to block customer accounts from being created?

I am constantly getting undelivered bounced emails and, upon investigating, noticed a customer account with the email address [email protected].
When I delete that customer, immediately it is created again. Same address, gibberish in the phone number field etc.
I seem to have no way of blocking certain email addresses and it is not showing an IP address
Blocking customers seems to be a missing feature.

    Any ideas?

I have a small utility module that can be used for this type of operation. It can prevent account creation based on criteria such as email address, IP address, etc. You can PM or email me if you're interested.

      Thanks Kent
      I sent you an email.

No idea what the purpose is for running a bot like that.

Patd265 Another option would be to use the Google Re-Captcha V3 module on the sign up form: https://apps.miva.com/recaptcha-v3.html

Nick Thanks for the tip. I installed ReCaptcha v3 .. which was unexpectedly painless :-) Deleted that bot account and it has not been back yet.
