Looking for some fresh outsider eyes on a dilemma we are having.
What would be best practice? Any feedback appreciated.
We have a ton of sized items, for example small through 3X, and have always created our product pages in parent - child format with child size items inactive. So only the parent item is displayed with radio or drop menu.
But this approach means there is not a way for customers to filter on a certain size. Say I am looking for a particular brand and model helmet but only interested in size 2XL.
This is currently not possible unless we also make every child-size item active.
So as a test I activated several child-size items and that allows each size to be filtered.
But now the dilemma is, we now have one product display with size attributes and also each of those size product pages showing if someone were to search for that particular product.

But this setup does provide us with size filters.

We could also ditch the parent items and rely completely on filters but not convinced that is the best way.
