We have updated the UPS Rate Tables that we use to provide UPS rates. These rates will work with the existing 4.x and 5.x modules. For users of the current modules, go into your module under Shipping Settings, click on the tab and click the Download or Update Rate Tables button, this will provide you with:
- New rates for 2009
- Next Day Air Early A.M. now calculates correctly (in previous versions it never appeared)
- Air shipments out of Alaska now calculate correctly
- Ground shipments into Hawaii from the lower-48 now calculate correctly
However there's still 2 items we're unable to fix without a module update:
- The On-Call schedule future pickup via UPS.com charge went up $1--this affects only UPS Ground and 3-day Select. This fee is applied prior to calculating the fuel surcharge, so with the current fuel surcharge the error is actually $1.03 (this issue doesn't impact people using Daily Pickup Rates)
- Extended Delivery Area surcharges are not properly applied--with the old module everything will get the residential or commercial surcharge. Other surcharges will be incorrect by roughly this amount:
Extended Residential Delivery Area: $0.60
Extended Hawaii Delivery Area: $3.95-4.40
Extended Alaska Delivery Area: $12.95-$13.40
When will the new modules come out?
Our updated UPS module for 5.5 will be released in early July as part of PR6. However you should update your rate tables immediately for far more accurate rates
In addition we'll be updating the 4.x UPS module following the release of PR6
Finally, if you're using the new UPS module, it should provide exact rates that match the UPS website 100% of the time (if you find rates that don't match perfectly, please contact support with the source and destination zip code as well as the other settings so we can identify the anomaly).
