Wordpress blog integration into Miva 5 Storefront

I am looking to integrate a Wordpress blog into a Miva Merchant 5 storefront. Preferably, I would like to operate the blog inside of the Miva frame to give the same appearance on the blog as the store. I am open to other suggestions and or ideas if you have done something similar for other clients in the past. My primary objective is to have a very similar look between the blog and the store so as to make shoppers and blog browsers not notice much of a difference. The site is http://www.houstononlinefurniture.com . The blog is installed in a separate MYSql database and is currently at http://www.houtsonlinefurniture.com/wordpress/ . Right now it is a basic shell and nothing more.

I'd tackle this with a custom Wordpress theme that uses the same graphics and HTML, at least as much as possible, as what you've used inside Miva. It's two sets of code to maintain, but the look and feel can be made similar. Any dynamic information, such as a "mini cart", can't be done in Wordpress unless you use something like AJAX, but it doesn't look like the site has that now.

An example of a site we've done this way is http://www.mypapershop.com/ and http://www.mypapershop.com/weblog/. (The mini cart at the top is done with AJAX and a custom Mivascript). The site runs Miva Merchant 4, but I'd do it roughly the same way with Miva Merchant 5.

What would be really great is a way to post from the store to a blog automatically - as in a way to create a new product list that updates to blog automatically.

wordpress has plugins for sucking up rss feeds. if you've got a feed generator in your store, i don't see why you can't have what you want.
