looking for developer to help with field verification using external REST endpoint

I have created an order custom field labeled 'member_id' and included it in on the OCST page so that the entered value can be logged with order data and included in reports. However, this value needs to be verified using an external REST endpoint before allowing customer to continue with checkout (similar to address verification). I am not familiar enough with MIVA's JSON API to do this myself. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
