Alternate CTGY and PROD Page Template issues

I seem to have stumbled upon something that I may be doing wrong. I'm using an older version of the Iron & Wool ReadyTheme and have created an Alternate Page Display for the CTGY and PROD page. After creating and applying them I have discovered that things like the Quick View on the CTGY page didn't work. The same thing with the popup image for the PROD page. After making sure that I had absolutely positively applied all the required Items I started getting very frustrated. Then I started looking at the scripts.js file. I found specific functions for jsCTGY and jsPROD. When I duplicated the jsCTGY (renaming it to match the Alternate Page Template) in the scripts.js file, the QuickView worked. I haven't copied the jsPROD yet since I want to find out what the correct way to do all this it. It's very, very frustrating.

Change the body id on your additional templates to match the standard product and category templates, e.g. id="js-&mvte:page:code;" becomes id="js-PROD" or id="js-CTGY".

I wound up doing something similar to that. Keep in mind that some sites are using the Body ID tag which does all the inserting, but it was easy to switch from <mvt:item name="body"> to <body id="js-PROD" or <body id="js-CTGY"

Hopefully our comments will make it easier on the next person that encounters this. Thanks!
