Inventory Error Messages

Your inventory messages are located in under Catalog -> Inventory within your administration portal.

Can someone point me to where I can adjust the inventory error messages. Using the javascript add to cart button on the product page. The default inventory messages work if I disable the javascript and the action is to send the customer to the POUT screen, but I prefer js functionality. When inspecting the element it shows class=message message-warning purchase-message, however I can not find how to configure the message to my preference.
