    Setting up UPS shipping

    Hello,

I have inherited responsibility for a Miva Merchant store for a client and there is a problem with their current UPS shipping charges where the customer is not charged enough for shipping.

Currently their store is running the "UPS Domestic Shipping Calculator (Discontinued)" module to handle their shipping calculations. I have been doing some research and it appears that the module they are using is discontinued, so it is not pulling the correct UPS rates anymore.

I have been looking into using the "UPS(R) Online Tools" module for them, however it appears that this requires a UPS account to use. I have not been able to find any documentation for this module, so I am a bit confused as to how it works. Does this module bill the customer for the shipping charge, or does it bill the UPS account that is on file for the shipping? The client does not want their UPS account billed, they want to bill the customer for shipping at checkout.

Also, the module has options for "UPS account type" that are Daily Pickup, Occasional Pickup and Suggested Retail Rate. They only want to ship when they have something available to ship, so I am assuming that "Occasional Pickup" is the correct option. What is the difference between Occasional Pickup and Suggested Retail Rate?

Also, if anyone has any documentation for this module that would be helpful as well.

    Thanks for your help!

    Re: Setting up UPS shipping

    Hello,

You must have a valid UPS account number in order to print shipping labels. If you don't have a UPS account number, you can still use this module to get real-time shipping rates. You can configure the UPS Online Tools module to bill your UPS account or a credit card when printing a label.

Select "Bill configured UPS account" or "credit card". If you select credit card, Miva Merchant will prompt you to enter a credit card number every time that you print a label. Your credit card information is not retained by Miva Merchant.
