Is it possible to have an Attribute that is a flat fee and not quantity based?

I have an attribute that we need to add to a product that is a flat fee and not quantity based. Does that sound like something I can do?

For example, the minimum quantity for the product is 75. The attribute is an add-on for $5.00 no matter how many the customer orders. If I add it in as an attribute and they choose to add it they are being charge $375.00 instead of $5.00 flat.

    Thanks.

No not currently. A few options:

    1. Use Miva's Handling Charge to add in the fee at the order level. The limitation to this is not triggered based on a product being in the cart. You're only triggers are order subtotal, quantity or weight.

    2. You can use Miva's Multi Add functionality to have it add a second product to the cart for the flat fee. You would then need logic to not let them remove it unless they remove the main product

    3. http://apps.miva.com/miscellaneous-fee.html - This module has the functionality you need to only charge the fee once per product.

The multi add functionality would work and we are ok if they want to remove it in the cart later but still keep the product. Would you be able to point me in the direction for the code on it?

      Thanks,
      Mike

I'm looking for this as well but need the option for the customer to manually click a checkbox to add the extra charge. To keep it easy we'd like the checkbox on the product page. It's a flat fee that the customer can opt into for the item. I currently have the misc fee module but that does not allow the customer to opt in for the charge - it is added during the checkout (which is exactly what we need for some items). Is there a way to do this?
        Thanks,
        Christine

Can't you use Misc Fee like this -or am I missing something? You create an attribute with no charge 'your_attribute' and set the attribute restricted to this name, set the fee amount and 'once per order' so I would think this might then only add the fee if the attribute is clicked for the product, and the 'once per order' would take care of the rest.

Sorry can't seem to get the picture to show using the link or upload so you can CTRL+click this link
