How to display recurring info in products?

Is it possible to create a snippet of information (custom fields perhaps) and then call that snippet into the product description of certain products?
Often we have recurring text in many but not all products. It would be great being able to update that text in only one place.

That's a perfect use of a custom field. You can do this in a couple of ways. You can put the informational snippet on the template and use a custom field to activate it. Or you can use a custom field, include the snippet, and then display that.

It would be preferred not having to mess with template code.
Creating custom fields is easy enough. Although, is it a Product or Page custom field I have to create?
It's not so straightforward to me how to display or call the content of that custom field, at a place of choosing, in the product description. in a way so that any staff can do this on a product level.

It would be a Product Custom Field but you will still need to edit the PROD page template to place the custom field. The custom field can be placed within the description div on the PROD template. Once it's set up then it can be triggered from within the product admin screen under the custom fields.

Question, is the snippet the same for all products assigned to the same category? If so, maybe you can can create a category custom field that contains the desired text, and a product custom field that if enable and assigned to subject category display custom category field contents -mind you, I am just spitballing.

No, it would not for an entire category.
The more I think about this, it actually was not the greatest idea I had to begin with :-)
