We currently handle this via attributes, charges and fees, or flat rate shipping methods. A way to add a shipping upcharge to a product that adds to the baskets shipping charge instead of being a fee linked to a specific product could be very helpful when dealing with larger or heavier products.

bmotlow are you using dynamic shipping rates like UPS or USPS? Or do you only have Flat Rate Shipping options? If using Flat Rate shipping options could you create a duplicate of the flat rate, one normal and one for large products, then use the product level shipping method rules to permit the large methods for the large products and normal methods for all other products? The large product methods could include the rate adjustment for the larger products.Nicholas Adkins

We are using dynamic shipping rates. The idea is to add a $100 shipping surcharge in addition to the standard shipping fee calculated by ups to cover the difference on those larger products.Comment
