Is there a simple way of displaying categories on sale on SFNT?

I'd use a ReadyTheme navigation set, cause any dynamic system is going to slow down your home page unnecessarily.
Any dynamic method would depend on how you defined "categories on-sale".
Let me clarify, being that our platform currently does not support the dynamic display of categories through Price Groups as it does for CTGY and PROD pages (e.g.: <strike><b>$100.00</b></strike> <font color="red"><b>$50.00</b></font>).
I was trying to find a simple way of manually assigning categories on sale either to the home page or a sale category rather than being forced to spend a day writing code every single time we run a promotion.
Unfortunately, one cannot assign a category to more than one parent category, otherwise I would have a sale category page and assigned categories to it as subcatogories.
Displaying promotions on this platform is an unnecessarily complicated and laborious mission for small and medium size shops with the exception I mentioned above. One should not have to get involved at all with CODE to display any promotions on their store! All promotions should be dynamically displayed the moment one finishes configuring a Price Group.
I want to have 30 or so categories on sale every week during the holidays, how do you suggest I do that effectively? FRUSTRATING!
What if ... you created a Navigation Set (call it Sale Categories). Place it on the home page. Then you can go into the Navigation Set and add or remove the categories you would like to be part of that sale for a specific week.

Thanks, that is not a bad idea, its not ideal but its far better than noting doing nothing or constantly writing code to showcase sales promotions.

Update: This solution is a lot more complicated than I initially thought, its not as bad as writing code but its close. Very labor intensive for 30 categories but better than coding. Copying and pasting is nearly impossible and very frustrating putting it mildly. But it was worth a try. Importing navigation sets does not appear to be an option.
