Bootstrap 5 basic modal

Added 'required' attribute to form input with a type of 'email'

On form submit (and yes, button type="submit") nada...zip...no validation.

Sounds like a problem I had in the past - I don't think I ever got an answer for a fix. Here's hoping you do.

I don't think validation works on type= email fields for Bootstrap5.

HTML5 should throw a required error if field value is null. Have you tried HTML5 pattern match?

Oddities Abound

Confirmed. required work just fine in bootstrap (all versions) as does the 'type="email"'

scheme DOES work in the modal...unfortunently, the message isn't ux friendly as it just says "please match the requested format" instead of "that doesn't look like an email address" (paraphrased).

That will close this exciting chapter as its not being used in a very critical location and I have bigger fish to smoke.
