How do I get the Batch List sort to match website?

Store owner is extremely frustrated with the Batch List "sort" display. The problem they are having is they go back to the Products batch list with a category the products "sort" does not match how they are sorted on the website (NOTE: the products are listed how they want them to be viewed on the store side category page).

In other words after spending whatever time it has taken them to arrange the products just how they want them to appear for their customers when they go back in the admin to work on the products within the category they are not listed the same. Since they have seen it happen all the time to them they know it happens but others who are not used to it might think they have to go through and re-sort everything again.

Am I missing the Capt. Obvious how to get the batch list to display as it was sorted?

    Hey Leslie,

When you're in your batch list click the + button to show/hide columns. At the bottom of the pop-up window which appears will be a section called Sort by Columns Not Displayed. Under this will be the option to sort on Display Order ascending or descending.

I've shown that to the store owner and it's still not showing her what she had handed sorted.

Is she clicking "Reload" when the prompt is shown:
"Changes have been made to the displayed order of records. Do you wish to reload the list for the most up-to-date version of these records?"

Seems to work fine in my stores.

If the problem is different sorting on front end vs admin side, maybe is her CTGY page Product Sort Order set to display products in a different order than the default sort, like Newest or something else?

Yeah, I think that might be it. What I need to figure out is how to get her admin sort to match her front end sort. There is no problem with the front end.

I may have found the answer at the bottom of the column selectors is something called Sort By Column Not Displayed and there is a "Reset" link.

That "Display Order ID" might be what she is needing. I'm waiting to hear back to confirm if it is.
