External Product Purchase within Miva 10?

Customers will call and ask for several items that are on the site (and others that aren't) so we use the old External Product Purchase module from Emporium Plus to create a product bundle on the fly and send it the customer for them to purchase.

    http://www.emporiumplus.com/v5/external.htm

I was wondering if this functionality now exists within Miva 10?

We are still looking for a way to create custom products and/or product bundles on the fly. Does anyone know of a way to do that in Miva 10?

One suggestion would be to use the Manage Quotes module. With the manage quotes module you can create a quote with items that are not in the store as well as items in the store with any pricing you want. Then you can send the quote to the customer who can click a link and proceed through the normal checkout flow on the frontend. Or if the customer accepts the quote over the phone you can turn the quote into an order in the admin and apply and payment information needed.

Here is a link to more information about the manage quotes module: https://docs.miva.com/miva10/referen...uotes-overview

Let me know if you have any further questions.

We have been doing this for years in 2 ways. Both are not ideal but they work....

Option 1. Set up attributes as if they are products. This doesn't work if you track inventory b/c an attribute is not seen as an actual product (although I do notice a "track inventory" checkbox in the attributes list that I have not tested). Attributes can have different weights, prices, descriptions and codes. Price each attribute however you want (build any bundle discount you want to offer manually per product vs. as a blanket percentage discount like in option 2 below). Example: https://www.lovemybubbles.com/mm5/me...Code=9010-Pink

Option 2. Create a new product with attributes as described in option 1. Add each individual product in the bundle with the same prices you charge in your store for each individual product. Each attribute represents an item in your bundle. Then set up a Price Group > Product Discount for your bundle (ie: call it Bedding Bundle) and assign the new product as a qualifying product. The purpose of the price group is to set a percentage discount on each of the items in the bundle. This method is a little buggy for a couple reasons.... the price/weight settings are based on what's in the cart, not at the product level. So if the customer has items in their basket already, the discount will be applied to all products (in my scenario, I need the customer to choose at least 2 products in the bundle before the discount is applied - but there's not way to do this). I haven't figured out how to get around this.

          Simple: https://www.lovemybubbles.com/mm5/me...de=9015-custom

          Lots of items: https://www.lovemybubbles.com/mm5/me...de=9019-custom
