    Basket/Qualifying Restrictions and Coupons

Using either the Restrict to Qualifying Subtotal or the Restrict to Basket Subtotal seems to work as expected until a coupon is thrown into the mix. I've even tried moving the coupon redemption to the OCST page so the basket total.

I know both restrictions look at the basket subtotal, which is the value of merchandise in the basket, before tax, shipping and any other order related charges. The problem seems to be with the "before". How do I get it to look at the total after deductions.

I do seem to recall that this has been a issue in the past and I might just be overlooking the solution. I'm needing to be able to offer free shipping after a total of $75 in merchandise has been added after discounts.

Could the problem be due to using the EmporiumPlus Coupon Redemption module?

That would by my first guess. Out of curiosity, checked the 'guide' and yea, when they say Restrict to Order Subtotal, they're not really clear on what that actually means. Should be pretty easy to test your theory using a miva coupon and enter the order through the admin so you don't need to mess with the store's UI. (i think you can do that)

That's what I'm trying to do with the free shipping. The free shipping is a Marketing Price Group. The "restrictions" I cited are for it. But I've tried moving the EP coupon to the OCST screen so it subtracts before getting to the OSEL. That doesn't seem to help. I suspect that the "total" is the total after deductions. I'm hoping someone from Miva will chime in.

As for messing with the UI - I'm testing via a branch so I guess I could create a coupon in addition to the free shipping.

Normally if both discounts are setup as price groups, the priority of the price group will determine the order each is applied. So as long as you have the price group giving the discount applied before the free shipping price group, the basket subtotal used will be the after discount subtotal to determine if free shipping should be applied or not.

Because you're using the Emporium Plus module to give the initial discount, this is ignored in the basket subtotal calculation since its not a price group that Miva uses in its calculations. Other basket charges such as taxes, shipping, or non-price group discounts are ignored in subtotal calculation.

Its also worth noting that in 10.00.04 (released 12/17/2020) we changed how this behaved to what it is now:

MM-7660 changes how the basket subtotal qualification works for Price Groups. Prior to 10.00.04 the
basket subtotal did not include any order level discounts. As of 10.00.04 any order level discounts are
included in the basket subtotal qualification calculation. The result of this is that if merchants set a basket
subtotal of $100, the customer must have $100 of product in their cart after any order level discounts
applied where before any discounts were excluded from the calculation.

Following up on this. I am trying to convert from the Emporium Plus Minimum or Subtotal Shipping by State Zone to something within the default shipping methods. I attempted to set up a Flat Rate Shipping to charge a flat rate from 0.01 to $74.99 controlled by the Shipping Method Rules. I had also tried using Price Table Based Shipping (which is probably what I need for this) to do the same. The shipping method is supposed to be able to offer free shipping WITHOUT any Price Group Free Shipping. If I use a coupon and the total goes below $75 it is not displaying the method. It appears to be hidden due the Shipping Method Rule. As I think this through would it be better to handle the Free Shipping through a Price Group instead of the Shipping Methods and Rules?
