    Google Analytics 4

Could Cloudflare cause issues with Scot's GA4 module? We seem to be only getting the basic page_view, session_start, scroll etc. I've double checked all the settings, secret key, measurement ID, Data stream settings etc. Tracking is active, item is assigned to pages... I've tried debug and the json payload seems to be working.

I've reached out to Scot. He wasn't aware of any Cloudflare issues.

Maybe it has something to do with the JS being compressed/minified by cloudflare? You could choose to bypass this JS files from the cloudflare cache to see if that makes any difference.

Is Miva going to integrate ga4 into their google analytics module before July or is Scots module the best / only option?

We do have plans to release a template code solution for GA4 ahead of the July deadline. We plan to make it as easy as possible to copy/paste in the code to the correct pages to utilize GA4.

Are you still on target for this need? I'm getting a number of inquires (and yes Scot's module has been suggested).

How plug & play is this module going to be? As in will the average store owner be able to install it and only require minimal input?

In the Town Hall meeting they made it sound more like a procedure... Didn't sound very plug and play. We've been using Scots module for a while now. He's applied a lot of updates. It's current and it works. I think this is about as plug and play as you're going to find.

Can we get an ETA Brennan? The next 2 1/2 weeks are my high season for sales, and I really need to get GA4 implemented. Been waiting patiently for an out of the box solution since I first asked about GA4 in November.

Yes, I heard that too. But it also sounds like the bulk of the workload is going to be in getting the Google stuff in place. I still suggest that if you need something now, get hooked up with Scot's module.

GA4 is no joke. It's complicated and anything you want to track seems like you need to create an event for it. I'm going to miss UA.

lesliekirk, that might be the direction we might have to go in if the native solution is not released with sufficient time to be properly implemented and tested by store owners or their technical service providers. Fortunately, Scot's solution has been around for some time and has already been proven.

Finally, was the last Town Hall rerecorded meeting ever released?
                          Thank you, Bill Davis

This is 1000% accurate .... while one would think something "new" would make things easier, getting data out of GA4 is no joke. At least with UA there were "canned" reporting that all you had to do was choose from a bunch of "dimensions" to see the data you wanted to see when it pertained to an e-commerce transaction. Now as Ron has mentioned it appears you have to set "triggering events" (my wording) to even be able to have the ability to capture granular data/analytics and then after you do that you have to set up/design reports yourself. There appears to be little or no "off the shelf" reporting templates/reporting events in GA4.

                            Very frustrating

We do (and had for the last year) a GA4/GTM integration available, however, it is NOT a quick install/setup and varies, based on the individual store configuration and tracking needs. If you don't need integration via GTM, my suggestion is to go with Scot's module for now, you can always update to a GTM integration later but I urge to act now, time is running out, especially if you also use Google Ads.

The sooner you are correctly set up, the more time Google Ads will have to optimize your ad campaigns based on the best
Google Analytics 4 conversions and audiences setup for your business.
