Base URL question

I am working on new email templates across the board and I have them coded how I like, but I am now going through and changing some of the graphic links to dynamic links so it will work with multiple websites.

In my <a href> I have "&mvt:global:domain:base_url;graphics/00000001/filename.png"

When I send an email I see broken links. I ran a Token List on the email template page and that token shows the domain.com/mm5/ as a link. If I change the mvt item to just the direct link it works...

any thoughts as to why this mvt token is not rendering or completing the url??

Thanks, I have about 10 different links I am wanting to use mvt code for and not direct links.

I think I know what is happening. I am using a dev subdomain and that is private. The email client can not access the link because it is not logged in. If I open the email in a web based client on a browser I have logged into this dev site with then it works... So, code is good testing on a private server is the issue.
